Fish leeches have two large distinct suckers.

Fish leeches are have a looping movement when they are not swimming, or an undulating movement if swimming. They may stick to the tray.

  • They have segmented bodies.

  • Eye spots located at the back of the head (which can be hard to see)

  • Two large distinct suckers, one at either end of the body

Their body is pale brown with white transverse bands and they are a temporary parasite on fish.

Can be confused with other leeches or flatworms.

Size: Can be up to 30mm
