Dragonflies do not swim.

Dragonflies breathe through gills located inside the rectum and, instead of swimming, are propelled forward by a jet of water ejected from their rear.

They crawl and can dart quickly to help catch prey or escape from other predators.

Dragonflies can be found in slow-moving water like ponds and lakes.

They are carnivorous, feeding on other invertebrates, tadpoles, and even small fish.
