Jennifer Dodd
Jennifer Dodd is an Associate Professor in Biodiversity and Restoration Ecology within the School of Applied Sciences at Edinburgh Napier University.
Jennifer has had a keen interest in the freshwater environment since childhood. Her first qualification was the tan on the back of her neck gained from hours spent in a river guddling under stones. Since then her career has developed but at the core remains the same.
Her PhD investigated long-term shifts in invertebrate communities from Scottish west coast river systems followed by several postdoc projects covering a range of freshwater taxa and systems. She started a freshwater consultancy in 2015 (Veritas Ecology Limited) and in 2018 started working at Edinburgh Napier University. Jennifer’s research focus is the monitoring and assessment of ecosystem condition using traditional and emerging technologies.
Jennifer has provided guidance for government and industry on a range of topics focussed on the effects of our exploitation of natural resources.
