The Great British Winter

The Great British Winter, a BBC series on the countryside and natural history in winter, is broadcast this week. Watch BBC2 at 6.30pm on Tuesday to see the episode on lakes and rivers, and look out for scenes filmed at or near the FBA's Windermere site, including our own Honorary Research Fellow Ian Wallace, Ian Winfield from CEH and some of our captive Arctic charr.

Book now for our next training course: 'Identifying freshwater invertebrates'

The FBA are running a two day training course on 'Identifying freshwater invertebrates' on Wednesday 20th - Thursday 21st March 2013 at the FBA, Windermere. Regional Freshwater Group meetings announced

The next meeting of the Scottish Freshwater Group will be at the University of Stirling on Thursday, 4th April. For details and a programme, see: www.facebook.com/ScottishFreshwaterGroup.

The London Freshwater Group will be meeting on Friday 22nd March at the Natural History Museum, to celebrate its 40th anniversary; details will follow when the timetable is confirmed.
