The FBA's Facebook Timeline

The FBA was founded in 1929 and over the last 80+ years has amassed a vast wealth of historically important data, information and physical specimens in its archives. As part of the continuing work undertaken by the FBA's Data and Information Services team, we're always unearthing interesting things from the FBA's past. So we've decided to share the things we find with the public via our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/freshwaterbio. Facebook has now adopted a new timeline layout for its pages which is ideally suited to this purpose. If you aren't familar with or have no interest in sites like Facebook, don't worry it's all available for free to the public.

Wray Castle - our first home

If you are in the Lake District you may be interested in visiting Wray Castle, the first home of the FBA, which is now open to the public. For full details see the National Trust website. We hope soon to include some information about the FBA’s time there, as part of the exhibition in the house, and will let you know when it is on display.

Scientific Meeting Programme published

The draft programme for the 2012 FBA Annual Scientific Meeting in Glasgow is now available on our website. If you want to add a presentation, there is still time to submit a poster abstract. Note that the deadline for early registration is 31st May, only THREE WEEKS away.
