FBA Project Manager Position (position now filled)

The FBA is a charity dedicated to the understanding and the sustainable management of fresh waters around the globe. Founded in 1929, we are a membership organisation with a rich history and we pride ourselves on being one of the finest sources of freshwater information in the world.

We are seeking to appoint a Project Manager, responsible for leading the delivery of a new flagship project funded by Biffa Award, and supported by Natural England and the Environment Agency, to enable the re-introduction of the freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera) into to several rivers in England.

FBA successful in bid to Biffa Award for project on pearl mussel river restoration

The FBA is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a Biffa Award grant for approx. £1.5 million (over 3 years) to work with partners to restore freshwater pearl mussel habitat in key English rivers and to trial reintroductions of juvenile mussel reared in the FBA Freshwater Pearl Mussel Ark. We are very excited about the important work this project will deliver and acknowledge Biffa Award for this opportunity to carry out such vital work to help safeguard this critically endangered species in England.
