FBA North East Region Meeting

The EU Water Framework Directive and Habitats Directive: Managing our Inland Waters

Monday 16 June 2008, 10.00am - 5.30h (plus discussion time to 16.30h)

Dept. of Geography and HIFI, University of Hull,

Conference room 3, Staff House, University of Hull, Cottingham Road, Hull HU6 7RX

Building on the success of the last two meetings, we are pleased to announce the third FBA regional meeting, which is open to all interested parties in the north-east or beyond.

This one-day event will bring together delegates with an interest in the ecology, biology and palaeoecology of streams, rivers, ponds, wetlands, lakes and canals, including academics, consultants, planners and specialist interest groups. It will provide an informal forum for discussion amongst a range of practitioners and acts as an impetus for future collaborative work.

We invite submissions for oral (15-20 min) and poster presentations. Full details of how to register are attached, and can also be accessed through www.hull.ac.uk/geog, where further details will be posted. To encourage wide participation the cost has been kept to a minimum: £12 for members; £6 for student members; £20 for non-members. This includes a buffet lunch and coffee.

The deadline for registration forms is Friday 9 May 2008; please return the form by post with payment, and abstracts by electronic email submission to Jane Reed (J.M.Reed@hull.ac.uk).

Please direct any enquiries to Jane Reed (J.M.Reed@hull.ac.uk) or Ian Cowx (I.G.Cowx@hull.ac.uk). We look forward to seeing you.
