FBA Scientific and Conference Facilities

The Freshwater Biological Association manages a wide variety of research facilities for field and laboratory work at its sites in Dorset and Cumbria, including:

• Electron microscope suite
  
• Lowland chalk river
  
• Lakes and tarns
  
• Meadow, fen and carr
  
• Conference suite
  
• Office facilities
  
• Technical and administrative support

All of the FBA facilities are available for hire for long-term or short-term projects. Technical and administrative support is available as required and access to office and IT equipment can be provided.

Its two dedicated sites at East Stoke and Windermere are supported by long-term datasets and specialist libraries, containing a large volume of published information, grey literature and unpublished documents, many relating to local field sites.  Both sites have a large conference room and smaller break out rooms and offer on-site catering facilities.
