Meetings and Conferences The FBA arranges a variety of national, regional and international meetings (by itself or jointly with others).
Each year we hold a highly respected Annual Scientific Meeting where members and delegates can come along and present their work and find out about the latest advances in freshwater science.
In September 2008 we launched a series of Conferences in Aquatic Biology, the first of which investigated "Multiple Stressors in Freshwater Ecosystems".
There are a number of regional meeting organised by local freshwater groups and the FBA directly supports the FBA NE Region Group.
In an international context the FBA joins with other leading overseas associations to organise key events and meetings such as the SEFS series of conferences. SEFS 5 - the Fifth Symposium was held in Palermo, Sicily. 8-13 July, 2007 and over 360 delegates attended. The next SEFS meeting will be held in Romania 16 - 21 July, 2009.
