The FBA publishes and sells a range of books on freshwater biology.

FBA Scientific Publication (SP) Series: Identification Keys and Analysis Guides. The Identification Keys lead the user through identification criteria and are packed with ecological notes of where the organism is likely to be found and the conditions they inhabit. The Analysis Guides offer practical advice on sampling techniques.

FBA Occasional Publication (OP) Series: Bibliographies, Published Data Sets and User Manuals.

FBA Special Publication (SPEC) Series: Reference Texts, published conference proceedings and regional case studies. The Reference Texts cover many aspects of general freshwater ecology and several draw on the English Lake District for practical examples.

Other Publications: Books published by other publishers, as well as a poster of blue-green algae.
